Two of LCF’s MA Fashion Photography students have had their fashion films nominated for prizes at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, part of Berlin Fashion Week 2013.
Narya Abhimata, MA Fashion Photography 2013, had his MA final project film, CMXCIX, screened as part of the Young Guns category. Showcasing the best emerging fashion and film talent, the Young Guns screening took place in front of a Jury consisting of leading fashion names and visionaries, including Vogue Italia’s Sara Maino and former art director at Saatchi & Saatchi NY, Michael Schachtner.
Luca Maria Piccolo, MA Fashion Photography 2013, had his nominated film, Amor Sacro Amor Profano, screened at the Award Ceremony on July 4th to the same prestigious jury and an audience of fashion experts and figures.
The Berlin Fashion Film Festival seeks to recognise the innovative power of film in fashion by bringing together outstanding film directors and emerging fashion talent.
Both films featured high production values and explored the young creatives’ sophisticated visions. Having been nominated as part of the festival, the filmmakers saw their work alongside projects from Prada, Givenchy, H&M, which featured Cara Delevigne and Lana del Ray, amongst others.
